A prelude to the Japan proxy season….Australia Proxy Season

It’s already nothing, as compared to June Japan proxy season - where everyone is working ceaselessly for proxy and nothing else.

For now, I have to manage everything related to proxy. That takes me a day even if it is not during the proxy season. Now that with the Australia proxy season coming, I FEEL STRESSED. There is so much to do. I used to think I could manage it if I concentrate. BUT it is just too much. It is all time-sensitive….

Will I get bored with what I am doing now? 
Everytime I tell my friends about the nature of my work - proxy = voting for the shareholders. So basically what I did is to set up an event if there is an upcoming shareholders’ meeting and vote accordingly on behalf of the clients. Sound easy, but I still feel that there is still a lot for me to learn (so cliche), the logic of allocating votes, the manner of clarifying with the agent bank….and i think the job satisfaction derives from streamlining the current process flow…which I inadvertently succeeded in doing so while updating our internal web page!

Anyways, I heard that the boss is considering to hire more people into the proxy team (now it’s only ME!). So probably, a few months later, I will be trying something new. YAY me.
